Kureha Corporation,
headquartered in Japan, is investing $100 million to build a plant in Belle, W.Va., at the DuPont site. Using breakthrough technology, the plant will produce Kuredux™ polyglycolic acid (PGA), a biodegradable polymer compatible with PET recycling processes. The first phase of construction will create 50 new jobs.
Allegheny Energy
will locate its new transmission operations headquarters at the I-79 High Technology Park in Fairmont, W.Va. It will create 150 jobs, with an investment of $50 million.
Alcon Research
in Cabell County is the world's largest producer of intraocular lenses. Since 2005, the company has invested $64.9 million in expansion projects and created 486 jobs.
Hino Motors
has invested $18 million to establish the state’s first commercial truck assembly plant in Wood County. It has created 105 new jobs. This is Hino's first assembly plant in the U.S.
Northrop Grumman Corporation
will create a National Work Force Center in Fairmont’s I-79 Technology Park. Northrop is investing $750,000; will create 60 new jobs.
Klockner Pentaplast
in Raleigh County is a leading producer of rigid plastic films. Company has expanded its facilities with a $14 million investment. It has created 20 new jobs and retained 41. Additionally, Klockner is a “Center of Excellence.”
Brookfield Power Corp.,
a Canadian-based owner and operator of hydroelectric plants, has established a production center in Montgomery. Brookfield has invested $10.2 million and will create 19 new jobs.
AT&T Mobility
has opened a call center in the new Highlands Development complex in Wheeling, W.Va. The company has invested $8 million and created 249 new jobs.
Longview Power,
a 695 megawatt coal fired power plant, is being built in the Fort Martin Industrial Park in Monongalia County. The company is investing $1.8 billion and will create 120 jobs.
CSXT
has created 80 dispatcher positions at its Huntington, W.Va., division headquarters with an investment of $7.8 million.
CertainTeed Gypsum
recycles synthetic gypsum from AEP for use in high-quality wallboard, bringing its total recycled content to 99%. CertainTeed’s wallboard contributes to LEED® credits in green building projects. The company’s $150 million investment represents the state’s largest deal since Toyota.
NGK Spark Plugs
broke ground on a new 85,000 square-foot building for the expansion of its Sissonville plant. $15 million
investment; 80 new jobs.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing, West Virginia, Inc.,
in Putnam County has invested $1.2 billion in the state and created 1,300 jobs since 1996. The company recently announced the investment of an additional $500 million to keep its operations competitive.
Weatherford Fracturing Technologies
is investing $34 million in Upshur County. It will create 80 new jobs.
Quad/Graphics
has invested more than $14 million at the Berkeley County plant over the past four years and created 70 new jobs.
ATK,
an aerospace company in Mineral County, has created more than 400 new jobs in the past few years due to expansion projects.
